This gentle organic cleanser is made with a blend of Australian bush flower essences, cleansing botanicals and exotic oils. Many of us have heard of flower essences as oral drops, this is the first time I have seen them combined into a facial cleansing system. I have always been a fan of flower essences and their subtle energies, I’ve used them many times before, as they help support different types of emotional needs. This purifying cleanser contains a special blend of 7 different bush flower essences, designed to release negative energy and improve self - doubt. The cleanser is very gentle and perfect for any skin type. I have oily/combination skin and it worked very well in removing dirt and cleansing my skin. No nasty pimples appearing the entire time I've been using this. It doesn't contain any artificial preservatives. Anyone with sensitive skin is going to love this cleanser and the gentle way it works. It has a creamy consistency and leaves my skin feeling silky soft. The gentle scent is beautiful, it’s very calming, I used this cleanser twice a day, I particularly loved using it before bed time as it helped to relax my mind. I also found that I slept better, so maybe the blend of flower essences were really doing their job! Not only does this cleanser work great on my skin, but I do feel as though the bush flower essences have quite an impact on my state of mind. This is a very pure, lovely product to incorporate into your beauty and health routine. You can purchase this Love System cleanser via this link at Chikii.

Imagine how much money you could save by making your own natural cosmetics! I’ve been lucky enough to have the pleasure of testing out a natural DIY lipstick kit from Create Your Cosmetics, an Australian owned company founded by Lana King, specialising in helping you create your own cosmetics at home, using natural ingredients. I don’t have a lot of experience when it comes to making my own cosmetics, so this was very new to me, but it turned out to be quite a lot of fun and very easy and quick to make. The kit I used was the Pink Amour (with Pink Mica and deliciously tasting natural Strawberry Fragrance Oil, it smells so good!). I also had a few additional Mica colours to play around with. It’s basically a matter of melting and mixing and in a very short amount of time your lipstick mixture is ready to pour into the mould. The first time I didn’t get it exactly right as I forgot to place a rubber band around the mould and the mixture was too hot when I placed it in the mould, but practice makes perfect and second time around it came out looking great. I even tried mixing up a few different colours, the Mica Pearl added a shimmery touch to the pink lipstick and Mica Pink and Mica Orange turned out to be a pretty coral colour lipstick. The ingredients used in this are very moisturising, such as the jojoba oil and shea butter and the actual lipstick colour gives a very pretty sheen to lips. You can always add more mica in, depending on how strong you want the colour to be. If you want to get really creative you can buy a whole pack of mica colours and start experimenting. The great thing about this kit is you know exactly what is going into your lipstick and onto your lips. The ingredients used are all natural and of a very high quality -
You receive enough ingredients in your kit to make enough lipsticks to last for many years! The kit also comes with droppers, lipstick tubes, lipstick mould and stirring sticks. I can’t wait to try out the other DIY kits, they have lotion Bar DIY kits and soap making DIY kits, as well as many beautiful fragrance oils to make your own perfumes. All ingredients are safe and natural and perfect for beginners or experienced DIY artists. You can click here to view or purchase the DIY lipstick kit. For the past couple of months I’ve been using the La Mav Anti-Ageing Mineral Foundation combined with the La Mav BB Cream. This foundation is an all in one concealer, sunscreen, foundation and powder, which means you can use it on it’s own and it will work fabulously, you really don’t need to use anything else with it, but as the BB cream also contains a primer and moisturiser, I use this first followed by the Mineral Foundation. This Mineral Foundation is 100 percent natural and certified organic, cruelty free and proudly Australian made. Completely free from all of the nasty chemicals such as parabens, petrochemicals and synthetics. The fact that this foundation is anti-ageing is a big added plus for me, as not that many loose organic powders are. It contains anti-ageing minerals and the anti-oxidant properties of certified organic rose-hip oil and vitamin C. It’s a good idea to start using anti-ageing products at any age, not just when you hit your 40’s and start noticing wrinkles! Prevention is the best medicine when it comes to skin care. When applying I only used a light dusting and this set my make-up for the entire working day, no touch up’s needed. The staying power is extremely long lasting, it will last all day long. La mav have done their research when it comes to performance and knowing what people need in their skincare products. I find this powder to be very nourishing for my skin, at the same time as making my skin feel perfectly made up by hiding my imperfections, without making me feel as though I’m wearing a tonne of make-up. It adds a slightly glowing and soft shimmer look to my skin without making it look shiny. As someone who can be prone to the occasional breakout, this also kept my skin clear and pimple free and hides any redness. This would also work well for those who suffer from Rosacea. It comes in 4 different shades, I used the light/medium shade and this was perfect for my fair, but slightly tanned skin. It also contains a natural SPF 15 sunscreen and is water resistant, even on hot, sweaty days it will stay on your face! The powder is very economical and you’re getting top quality at an affordable price. I highly recommend both the La Mav BB Cream and Mineral Foundation powder as a healthy way to keep your skin looking and feeling great, I don’t think anyone will be disappointed after trying them. Before this I was using a liquid foundation and pressed powder, but now I've been converted. Previously I've found other loose powders looked too thick, but this glides on smoothly and evens out to a very natural looking skin tone. Kosmea Rose Collection Review - Limited Edition Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil and Rose Hand Cream.6/26/2014 Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil What I love about Kosmea’s certified organic rose hip oil is the high quality and affordability for such an amazing product. Rose-hips contain essential fatty acids and anti-oxidants which will nourish all skin types. This little bottle of oil will help prevent stretch marks, smooth out lines and wrinkles and treat acne scars. Made from wild rose hips, ethically sourced and 100 percent organic. As a daily routine apply a couple of drops to slightly damp skin morning and night after cleansing. I used it before applying moisturiser in the mornings and in the evening's I used it on it's own. It really does seem to brighten my complexion and add some plumpness. I like the feeling of the oil as it melts into my skin and getting into the fine lines. Rose-hips are a natural source of Vitamin A and a safe way to reduce wrinkles without chemicals and side effects. Suitable for all skin types as it balance's skin and is good for regulating hormonal acne. It absorbed into my skin quickly and didn't leave any oily residue. I also like to use this as a natural eye make-up remover, mix a little bit with water onto a cotton wool ball and it will remove eye-makeup at the same time as moisturising your skin, particularly good for crows feet. It comes with a convenient glass dropper, so you get just the right amount you need with each application. Rose Hand Cream I have always been a big user of hand creams, so was very happy to have the opportunity to review this Kosmea Rose Collection, containing Limited Edition Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil and Rose Hand Cream. I have dry hands, so before I changed to organic products, I used to go for the really heavy duty thick hand creams, which were also laden with chemicals. This organic Kosmea hand cream feels luxurious enough to keep my hands moisturised without feeling oily. The texture isn’t heavy and thick, but it has enough substance to keep hands moisturised without having to constantly re-apply. The fact that this contains Kosmea’s pure Organic rose-hip oil makes this an extremely nourishing cream to use both day and night to keep hands feeling smooth and soft, it also helped to repair my sore cuticles which I always seem to get in winter time. I use this on my feet before I go to bed and wake up with soft feeling feet, this is especially good for cracked heels. The scent is a calming and subdued perfume of delicate roses. This natural scent is made with Damascus Rose Flower Water and Rosewood Oil, it smells of summery days and it’s nice to use in winter time when you need a lift to your senses. It comes in a pretty soft pink tube in a perfect size to carry around in your handbag or keep on the bedside table. It also contains jojoba oil, aloe vera, shea butter, vitamin E and white tea extract, which are all important ingredients to prevent ageing skin. Kosmea is an Australian based company who use the highest quality herbal, plant and flower extracts. Their rose hips are 100 percent organic and are ethically sourced from South Africa. You can purchase the Kosmea Rose Collection here. The Rose Hand Cream and Organic Rosehip Oil are also available to purchase seperately. When I think of Kosmea the word quality comes to mind. Kosmea is an Australian owned company founded by Marie Jenkins, who works closely together with her two daughters to bring you a natural, organic skincare range made with care, and have achieved international success with their entire line of rosehip based products. I have been using the Replenishing moisture cream for the past couple of months on my face and decolletage. There is something very soothing and comforting about this cream. It could be the natural light floral scent which somehow reminds me of my childhood and summertime, but also the nourishing qualities of this cream. The key ingredients are organic rosehip oil, which is packed with anti-aging anti-oxidants and essential fatty acids, Shea butter and carrot oil, which restores dry skin, white horestail extract which contains silicon and boosts collagen and white tea extract - a strong antioxidant. Another major addition is Hyalurolift, a cutting edge natural skincare technology which restores elasticity to the skin, transferring moisture into skin and dispersing it into the deeper layers. It's a tiny bit thicker than the creams I usually use, but at the same time, felt quite light on my skin and absorbed quickly. I have oily/combination skin, but it hydrated my skin perfectly without leaving it greasy and is great for coming into cooler months when skin is dry, although can be used throughout the year. A good test for me when using a new cream is whether or not I break out with new pimples and I didn't with this one! Perfect for day and night use, I wore it under make-up and it worked great as a primer, so saves you money by not having to buy a seperate day and night cream. If you have a sensitive nose, don't be put off when I say it has a floral scent, it's a natural light scent of rose-hips and smells beautiful. Due to the rich texture, only a small amount is needed. It left my skin feeling very soft and the powerful effects of rosehip oil combined with the white tea extract and Hyalurolift also makes it an excellent anti-aging cream. Click here to purchase Kosmea Replenishing Moisture Cream Black Chicken – Balm of Ages , an all purpose remedy from mother nature. The unique and quirky name really caught my attention and I couldn't wait to try it. Black Chicken is actually named after the legend of an ancient medicine woman, renowned for her healing powers. This is now one of my favourite every day organic beauty items and I highly recommend it. The balm can be used for anything and everything. I use it on my lips, cuticles, cracked heels, scars and on cuts. You can pretty much use it in the same style that you would have used Vaseline, but this is by far the healthier choice, you can even use it to remove make-up and cleanse your skin. Completely 100 percent natural and certified organic, with a calming boho woody scent. It contains 19 different healing oils, some of which include lavender, sandalwood, patchouli, lemongrass, ylang ylang and frankincense. Other stand out ingredients are Cajaput oil, Arnica, Hemp Seed Oil, Coconut oil, Sea Buckthorn oil and Calendula oil. If you use this before going to bed, the aromatherapy values will make you feel very blissful, sometimes I’d open the tin just for a whiff of the beautiful scent. The soft, thick texture glides on smoothly and gently melts into my skin. It sits on my bedside table and I use it every morning and night, my favourite uses are as a lip balm , cuticle softener and for my cracked heels. It's non-sticky, non-oily and is perfect for moisturising my dry hands. Black Chicken Remedies entire range of natural products look really interesting and I’m looking forward to trying out a few more. I love the look of their packaging, beautiful black and turquoise colours, very basic, but visually appealing and eco-friendly. The balm comes in a retro style tin, which you can re-use when you eventually run out, although this will take a long time, as it's extremely economical. The great thing about this product is that it saves you money by not having to buy so many different products. The balm cleanses, moisturizes, smoothes frizzy hair, is an antiseptic, reduces scarring, stretch marks, heals rashes and excema. Black Chicken remedies is an Australian company based in Bondi, created by Chey Birch, an expert when it comes to healing skin with essential oils and natural ingredients. If you haven't heard of snail serum before, it may sound a little strange at first, but snail serum is taking the beauty world by storm.
Snail Serum facials are now used by some of the top International Beauty Salons, as snail serum is full of collagen, a natural skin plumper and contains many other skin nutrients. In Japan they even use live snail facials. The serum has become a big trend in Hollywood, fast becoming known to be an elixir of youth. I think it's a trend which is here to stay. One of the first facts you probably want to know is - how is it made and were any snails hurt? The serum is not actually made out of snails, it's made from the secretions the snails leave behind through a slow and natural process and this is a process which is performed humanely, snails are not harmed. When I first received my bottle of SUAY skin repair snail serum, I wasn't sure what to expect, for some reason I was expecting a thick type of lotion, but I was pleasantly surprised when I placed the serum on to my skin, the serum is very light, non-sticky and it blended into my skin instantly. I read that snail serum can repair quite a number of skin ailments and one of these includes scars, so I experimented by using this on a couple of red scars I had from a minor operation and applied it to my face twice daily, concentrating on the fine lines around my lips and eyes. After using this for a few weeks I definitely noticed an improvement in the texture of my skin in these areas. I felt like it had a tightening effect. Apparently the snail serum replicates human skin and helps it to regenerate and is very good for damaged skin. Some of the components of snail serum are collagen, elastin, Glycolic Acid, Vitamin C and proteins. This combination removes dead skin cells and repairs damaged skin. It's 100 percent organic, the serum smells surprisingly pleasant, there is barely a scent there, so suitable for anyone with allergies and sensitive skin. I loved the packaging of this product, it comes in a glass jar with a beautiful gold dropper lid, making it such a pleasure to apply. Glass bottles are my preference for beauty products, to me it makes the experience feel a bit more luxurious. Even though plastic bottle these days are BPA free, I still prefer glass, I find lotions will be kept fresher if stored in a glass jar. Some of the many other benefits of snail serum are preventing pimples, reducing acne scars, age spots, stretch marks, keeping skin looking and feeling soft and young. SUAY snail serum is a very affordable anti-aging, skin healing treatment. If you want to give this intriguing beauty product a go, you can purchase it at SUAY, an Australian owned small business, they also offer International shipping. _
Carol's Beauty, an Australian based company specialising in certified organic tanning products, have released Australia's first certified organic and natural faster sun tanning lotions.
Featuring certified organic and all natural ingredients including carrot seed oil, which is loaded with over 600 antioxidants, vitamins and emollients, almond, wheat germ and sunflower oil, containing vitamins A, E and D along with henna.
Over the past few weeks I've been using the tanning oil and tanning cream.
I don't tend to do alot of sun-bathing any more, but I do spend fair bit of time at the beach and get a bit of sun when I'm there in the mornings or afternoons. I started off by using the tanning oil on my legs, as they were very pale, I thought this would be an interesting test. Even though Henna does contain a natural SPF, I applied it together with an organic sunscreen. I noticed a subtle glow almost instantly, this is because of the henna extract, it gives you an instant colour. I continued to use the oil over the next few weeks and it didn't take long to develop a nice golden tan. The oil is easy to apply and melts into my skin easily. I used to love using tanning oils, but stopped using them a long time ago because there weren't any organic tanning oils on the market. The tanning cream I tested out first on my arms, applying it before I applied my sunscreen, the effects were very similar to the oil, it depends on what type of lotion you like to use on your skin. Although my arms were already tanned before I started using it, it did deepen the tan I already had. The cream is a nice consistency which also blends into skin easily. Both cream and oil are very moistursing, keeping skin from drying out in the sun, which is very important if you do like the sun, but want to keep your skin looking smooth and to prevent ageing. These products definitely speed up the tanning process in a natural way. Even if you don't spend time in the sun and didn't want to use them as tanning products, you could use them as moisturisers , as the ingredients, such as carrot seed oil and wheat-germ oil, gives skin a younger and firmer look. The tanning colour gives a nice golden glow to skin, you won't end up looking orange or with any streaks, as you can sometimes with self-tanners. You can purchase these tanning lotions at Carol's Beauty.
Moana, a certified 100% Organic skincare range based in New Zealand, have an amazing anti-aging skincare line on the market, the main ingredient being native New Zealand red seaweed. Moana have already received accolades, with their products being described as “nature’s botox”._
There’s something special about skincare produced in New Zealand, the ingredients used are so unique and nourishing. Moana have harnessed the effects of potent superfoods and created this range using extensive research in skin biochemistry. Each of these products contains New Zealand Red Algae Extract (Marine Glycans). Red Seaweed is very close to the structure of human skin, Marine Glycans promotes collagen production, which means fewer wrinkles, smooth skin and no botox injections! From the first application I could tell this range was perfect for my skin type. I have oily skin, but I also need to use an anti-aging product, some anti-aging products are too thick and heavy for my skin, but this felt light, smooth and hydrating. I used the cleansing milk morning and night, I loved the scent, it’s a fresh, clean natural aqua scent which reminds me of the ocean, it left my skin feeling clean and soft, without feeling harsh. Sometimes it’s nice to have a change from the citrus style cleansers, I love the marine based ingredients in this. The moisturiser is light and glides on smoothly, melting into my skin, leaving no oily residue, a great every day moisturiser and perfect to wear under make-up. Containing marine glycans (red seaweed) and Harakeke (New Zealand flax, it's nectar offers at least ten times the anti-inflammatory and hydration potency of Aloe Vera). Mamaku, a black fern of New Zealand, repairs DNA in human skin, it's an ingredient which is highly sought after. This is one of my favourite moisturisers, hydrating my skin with just the right balance, which can be both dry and oily. I can also recommend this for those with acne prone skin, as I didn't get one spot while I was using this. The serum is highly concentrated in red seaweed (almost 100%). Used after cleansing, it had a pleasant tightening effect on my skin, which I could especially feel around my eyes. The oil contains Hemp Seed Oil (one of my favourite ingredients for great skin), Evening Primrose Oil, Kawakawa Oil and Kiwi seed Oil, it also acts as a natural defense against UV damage. Out of the entire range, the oil is probably my favourite, on top of the beautiful, natural scent this contains, it made my skin feel so soft and smooth throughout the entire day. Combining both the serum and oil together had a powerful effect on my skin and reduced the appearance of age lines, especially on my neck and decollatage area. Very good for hydrating and plumping up skin. I also used this combination after sun exposure and the next morning the heat and redness had gone away. The instant lifting mask contains marine glycols, manuka honey, kiwifruit extract, new zealand plant extracts and chamomile oil. After I used this mask my skin felt so clean and soft. I've never been a heavy user of masks, but I'm at the age now that I really do need to start using them more often. The mask glides on when applied and 15 minutes later my skin felt so different, it felt younger. After using this I might become addicted to using face masks! I am certain that anyone who tries this skincare range will be very pleased with the results. I would be very happy to continue using these products long term. Certified Organic Balance Phyto-Nutrient Day Cream I couldn't wait to try the phyto-nutrient day creme as I noticed one of the ingredients was Vinanza Grape – a superfruit extract made from Sauvignon Blanc Grape Seeds, I thought this sounded interesting and was curious to see the effects on my skin. This is a lush, velvety creme, which contains the exotic oils Myrrh, Jasmine Sambac, Bitter Orange and Vanilla Fruit extract. Also contains evening primrose oil, proven to keep skin looking youthful due to the omega oil properties. The consistency is just right – not too thick, but creamy enough to know that it's properties are penetrating and doing their job. I always use moisturisers on my decollatege as well as my face, a good test for me as this is where I see aging first. This is where the Vinanza Grape came into action, keeping the elasticy and firmness in my skin and smoothing fine lines, I'm so glad I've come across this ingredient in organic skin care. Combined with the essential oils (especially Myrrh which prevents skin degeneration), this is a pleasure to apply and use every day to keep wrinkles at bay. Balance Extra Gentle & Revitalising Cleansing Milk Another reason I wanted to try the Balance collection is becuase I love Bergamot, the uplifting scent always seems to lower my stress levels and Bergamot oil is very good for my acne prone skin, evening out and brightening a dull complexion. The other key ingredient is the amazing Sauvignon Blanc Grape Seeds extract, loaded with anti-oxidants. It has a creamy texture which doesn't lather up (this a good thing, it means there are no nasty chemicals). It leaves a moist, supple feel to my skin and cleanses my skin of all dirt. Certified Organic Balance Refresh & Refine Alcohol-Free Toner I'm a big fan of spray mist toner's, the pump bottle makes it so much easier and quicker to apply and leaves a refreshing feel. Contaning Bitter Orange oil which has an earthy and green scent very similar to Neroli, it smells soft and sweet and is the perfect pick me up, it's also a very good natural astringent which doesn't feel harsh on my skin and reduces swelling. The other key ingredient is the skin firming Sauvignon Blanc Grape Seeds extract. This is the perfect toner before moisturising. I used it any time I felt my skin and senses needed a quick lift, a mist of this felt lovely to use on hot days. |
